Carlos Villa, a Filipino artist featured in an exhibit that opens tonight at the Mission Cultural Center, talks about how he became an artist.

Opening reception: August 17, 6:30 p.m.
Cash bar and light fare ($5 admission)

“The exhibition includes excerpts from Villa’s “Doors” series, some of which have never been in public view. Select drawings, photographs, and ceremonial attire will also be on display — visual metaphors for the intercultural weaving that forms the essence of his work. This exhibition is funded in part by The San Francisco Foundation.” Read more here.
