Award winning author, Lauren Groff, brings us a tale of a young woman who moves from New England to Palo Alto, taking her first steps into post-college adulthood. As she tries to discover who she will become, the “god and animal within” fight to define her. Groff was named one of the 100 most influential people by TIME in 2024.

Groff’s rich and layered tale traces the journey of a young woman forging her path in a world shaped by economic precarity, fractured family bonds, and a desire for connection and reinvention. Through her relationship with an eccentric mentor and the fairytale-like house they share, Annunciation explores the liminal space between myth and reality, asking us to reconsider the stories we tell about ourselves and the beliefs we choose to hold.
