The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is asking residents to fill out its Accessibility Strategy Needs Survey to help the agency identify and address transportation improvements for riders with disabilities and older adults through the next five years.
The survey is part of the MTAโs Accessibility Strategy, a priority of the agencyโs strategic plan, meant โto assess how well we meet the diverse transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities.โ
The survey will be open until this Wednesday, Jan. 15, and asks participants to rate their priorities for Muni projects, street safety, and paratransit/taxi services.
The survey is available in nine languages, with assistance via 311.
You can fill out the survey at the link above, or go here.

I greatly appreciate the reporting announcement on this subject. Please if your are in a wheelchair or know someone who is, fill out this survey. My top concern has to do with public electric wheelchair charging stations. I first began raising this issue with the Mayor’s office on Disability in 2022. It is listed in this survey.
Done — I wish this survey was better publicized, like on actual Muni buses and trains. (Maybe they hid the announcement somewhere small?)
Our neighbor uses a wheelchair, and it is terrifying watching him in the middle of the street because car block so many sidewalks.
look at how capable the SFMTA is of painting curbs as illustrated in the photo! I wish they afforded that common courtesy to drivers who are looking for parking spaces and might mistakenly park too close to a curb under new regulations! I guess grabbing cash from drivers is more in vogue, though.
Cars are heavily subsidized. As in the title of the book, “There is no such thing as free parking”.
To ask seniors and others who English is a second language, this survey does not reach those most in need. Sad.
