選舉還有不到一週,可更近的是什麼?萬聖節啊。還有更近的呢?我家貓咪的生日。

她叫 Sally Carrera,一個月前趁收容所萬聖節特賣時領回家的。沒錯,她是隻打折貓。對,收容所還真給她取了個《汽車總動員》裡保時捷的名字。

為了慶祝這個特別的日子,我發動所有認識的人,用排序選擇投票的方式,幫我挑出 Sally 最上相的照片。

總共有五張照片參選,各路人馬紛紛表態。Mission Local 的捐助者聯絡主管 Vicky Anibarro 在辦公室 Slack 頻道上打起負面廣告,猛轟 Sally 讀普魯斯特那張照片。編輯 Lydia Chavez 則表示要投剛當媽的 Sally 一票,理由是「要支持女性」。

然後進入投票階段。大家可以給任意數量的照片排序——想排幾張排幾張。但千萬不能把多張照片同時排第一,那樣選票就作廢了。

三藩市這次選舉也是一樣的規則,有 13 位市長候選人。

所有選票投完後,先數每個人的第一選擇票。

得票最少的照片出局。讀普魯斯特的 Sally 被淘汰了,可把學術貓界打擊慘了。

接下來,把第一選擇照片被淘汰的人的第二選擇票都計算進去。

重新分配這些選票後,再把最少票的照片淘汰。

就這樣一輪一輪進行,直到某張照片得票超過 50%。最後,Sally 撕我記事本那張照片——也就是「惡魔 Sally」——榮登冠軍寶座。
