Two men exchanged gunfire and another man was stabbed in the Mission District over the weekend in two separate incidents. Two men were sent to the hospital, but neither was in serious condition.
On Sunday at 1:38 a.m., a 30-year-old man was in a car near 16th Street and South Van Ness Avenue when another man of unknown age drove up in a green SUV. The second man shot at the 30-year-old man with a handgun, and the 30 year old then returned fire.
The 30-year-old man was taken to the hospital but is in stable condition. The police have not made an arrest.
A day earlier on Saturday at 12:35 a.m., a 33-year-old man was walking near 19th and Capp streets and noticed blood on his shirt. The victim said he had been stabbed but did not know how or when. He was taken to the hospital, and the police do not have a suspect and have not made an arrest.
On Sunday, a man in his 40s was driving a stolen tan SUV at fast speed near South Van Ness Avenue and Howard Street at 9:56 a.m. when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a woman on her motorcycle. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The stolen car — a GMC Yukon — was later abandoned and recovered by the police. The police have not made an arrest. The news site Hoodline spoke to a witness on the scene who gave more details on the accident.
And on Sunday at 4 a.m., a 28-year-old man was walking near 17th and Mission streets when another man walked up to him and hit him in the left eye and ear. The suspect took the victim’s wallet, and then fled northbound on Mission Street. The police have not made an arrest.
