Police report that some seven to ten people estimated to be 15-18 years old surrounded a 54-year-old man as he was preparing to return to his home on 15th Street near Guerrero Street at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. The teens started an argument with the man, who tried to get back through the gate of his apartment building.

One of the suspects punched him in the face, knocking the older man to the ground, where he hit his head. The victim was knocked unconscious. He was transported to the hospital for life-threatening head trauma, and his exact condition is unknown at this time. No arrests were made.
