A 37-year-old man was treated at San Mateo County Hospital Monday morning for a gunshot wound which, he reported to police, he sustained at the corner of 26th and Mission streets at about 2 a.m. But the victim also told police he did not hear any gunshot, see any vehicle, or see any suspect – he simply felt a sudden pain in his shoulder.

The man said he then took a bus from San Francisco to the San Mateo hospital, where police confirmed doctors removed a bullet from the man’s shoulder and he was discharged. No suspect description or further information was available.

Two Robberies

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, just before 5 p.m., two men and a woman approached a 22-year-old man sitting on a bench on 14th and Valencia streets and asked him about his bike. One of the men then hit the victim in the face with an unknown hard object, and the three suspects grabbed the victim’s bike and fled with it. No arrest was made, and the victim was treated on scene for a laceration to his forehead.

Just before 9 p.m. the same night, a man in his 30s approached a 39-year-old man from behind on 18th and Mission streets. The suspect then punched the victim in the face and snatched a gold chain from the victim’s neck before fleeing the scene. He was not arrested, and the victim was left with pain to the eye and check, though he was not transported to the hospital.

Hot Prowl

On Wednesday night, a couple in their 50s living on Guerrero Street between 25th and 26th streets heard a strange noise coming from the garage area in their home between 11 p.m. and midnight but didn’t investigate further. The next morning, they found two bicycles missing from their garage, stolen by an unknown suspect.
