Muddy Waters was the one of only two businesses open at 7am (the other was K&H Liquor, where the co-owner declined comment). “Nobody is open, I guess, and I have some customers who will be leaving [for the] East Bay who take BART early. I open for them,”explains manager Najat Echchoukairi. She opens as early as 5:30 for these faithful customers.
