As well as a shooting victim at San Francisco General and two armed robberies, police report Tuesday of more suspects posing as water department employees to rob homes.
Water Department home invasion con
A 62-year-old man on Bryant Street, near 23rd, was the victim of another home invasion in which suspects pretended to be water department employees. When the three suspects came to his home posing as public employees, one of them convinced the man to wait outside with him while the other two went inside to take his car keys and two handguns.
This incident comes after a series of home invasions by suspects posing as San Francisco Public Utilities Water Department employees earlier this year. In December, the San Francisco Police Department were investigating an incident in which three men dressed as water department employees robbed a home on 19th Avenue.
Around the time of that previous incident, Amy Sinclair a representative of the of the Public Utilities Commission sent out a statement reminding residents that water department employees always drive city vehicles, have badges with City seal and identification numbers, and that they only ask to enter a residence if they have a scheduled appointments. Shooting walk-in, robberies with force
Police report that a 25-year-old man checked himself into San Francisco General Monday around 9 p.m. following a shooting incident. The man had minor injuries, police did not share any additional details.
Early Monday morning, at roughly 1 a.m., a 17-year-old was walking on the street near Guerrero and 22nd when an unknown suspect punched him from behind and knocked him to the ground. The suspect went through his pockets and took off with his wallet and smartphone.
At 23rd and Valencia, a 22-year-old woman was walking near her home when a male suspect around 20-years-old came up behind her and grabbed her phone out of her hands, then ran off heading eastward.
