A 32-year-old woman was walking on 26th and Dolores on Wednesday at 10:11 p.m. when two young men approached her and knocked her to the ground, according to police.
The suspects punched the woman and attempted to steal her purse. According to police spokesperson Officer Gordon Shyy, a good a samaritan driving by saw the incident occurring and shined his headlights at the suspects. Once illuminated, the suspected fled the scene but not before one of them fired a shot towards the victim’s direction. Neighbors heard at least two shots being fired.
The good samaritan helped the victim call the police and paramedics took her to San Francisco General Hospital where she was treated for head wounds. No arrests have been made.
Fracas on Elizabeth and San Jose Avenue
Nearby at San Jose and Elizabeth five cop cars congregated at the corner of Elizabeth and San Jose at 10:30 p.m. after someone called in about a loud noise.
Neighbors watched as police detained the vehicle’s driver and talked to a man who was handcuffed and on the sidewalk on San Jose Avenue near the corner of Elizabeth. He appeared to be the owner of a white four-door sedan with one tire out.
“We heard a loud noise,” said one resident of San Jose Avenue.
A police officer on site said they were still trying to figure out what was going on and this morning that was still the case. Officer Shyy explained that the suspect had been taken into “investigative custody” but had not seen the full report and couldn’t say if he was still in police custody.
A Car Sale Hoax
At 9 p.m., Tuesday a 40-year-old man had agreed to sell his car to a 34-year-old. The seller and the buyer were driving together to the car when the older man pulled over on 25th and Harrison, took out a knife and demanded the victim to hand in the money. The victim handed in his backpack and got out of the car.
The suspect fled in the car. The victim was not injured and no arrests have been made.
Hot Prowl
At 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, a 27-year old walked through the back door of a house on San Carlos Street and took a laptop and some papers. People saw the suspect fleeing and cased him. The suspect dropped the items and fled the scene. The suspect was later arrested. No one was injured.
