It is 7:29 and by the time I get this up it will be later. But it will probably still be 64.6° and headed to 72°. Details for the next ten days are here.

It feels a little muggy out there so it may rain – but what do I know because the weather site says there is only a 10 percent chance.

I walked 25th up Valencia to 26th, over to Bartlett and then back to Valencia on 25th.  Gracious.  The block has some gems on it and an almost southern style with an occasional porch. An added treat today – sounds. The loveliest – oddly – the whirr of bicycle wheels, which I began to hear as soon as I left my house.

Enjoy the day Missionites and please, there must be other people who want to get up and walk a block in the morning. If so, please contact me at or at missionlocal@gmail.  All you have to do is get up at 6:30 a.m. or so and walk around a block of your choosing to take some photographs.

What’s been wonderful is to really look at a block, to see its character, to hear its sounds.

The map of all our morning walks can be found here.

  1. I loved the sound clip. I used to spend hours at a time in the 1970s wandering around Seattle recording ambient sound and this clip took me right back to those days. Thanks.
