Welcome in Thursday; let’s get this started. It’s 7 a.m., 56° now and expected to rise to a mostly sunny 64°. Details for the next 10 days are here.

Today is all about hearings. Remember that whole big kerfuffle about Jack Spade and chain stores? The Planning Commission hears a report about “formula retail,” its effect on local economies and what the Planning Department’s recommendations are for regulation. Expect more on that later.

Also in today’s hearing report, the San Francisco Commission on the Environment is considering a proposal that would limit how much fossil fuel and coal products can be shipped within city limits. Grist has more details.

If you’d like to hear something for yourself, why not head to the Mission Community Market and check out the new Street Stage with live performances, that we told you about yesterday.

Happy Harvey Milk Day everyone! We’ll admit it, we’re probably here to recruit you.

PS. We love hearing from you, send tips here: missionlocal AT gmail.com
