crime recap

Unfortunately, someone gave a Mission robber the time of day — and came up one blingy necklace short because of it.

Around 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon, an 18 to 20-year-old Hispanic man approached a 38-year-old Hispanic man on Mission near 22nd Street. He asked him “What time is it?” The victim looked down — apparently to check the time — and the young suspect snatched a gold necklace with an anchor-and-eagle medallion off the man’s neck. He ran northbound up Mission Street — the direction of Mission Street’s pawn shop row.

The victim had a bit of an abrasion to his neck, but we’re guessing probably an even bigger abrasion to his faith in humanity. There’s been no arrest.
