If a car hits a scooter on the street and there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? For other publications it doesn’t, but it does for us at Mission Local. No incident is small enough for us to ignore, and often times we find that covering a crash gives us an insight into a broader story. The number of accidents we covered on South Van Ness Avenue over the years led us to a bigger story which exposed South Van Ness as one of the most dangerous for pedestrians and motorist in the City.

We think it’s worth investing in this kind of reporting. If you agree please make a tax-deductible donation to Mission Local.
