The BART saga continues. Yesterday, two workers inspecting the tracks near the Walnut Creek station were struck and killed by a train on a maintenance run. The train was being computer operated at the time of the accident.

Over 30,000 women will be competing today in the 10th annual Nike Women’s Marathon. The starting line is at Union Square, but you can find the full route here.

Living in the Mission District feels a lot like home for former Brooklyn resident Emily Gibson. Both neighborhoods are happening cultural centers with their own unique stories to tell. As an arts reporter, Gibson, 28, hopes to highlight under-reported Latin cultural events and their role in the larger contemporary art scene.
