A small brush fire broke out in San Francisco near the Doyle Drive construction site in the Presidio’s Crissy Field today, adding yet another dose of smoke and haze to the Bay Area.

The fire was reported around noon, said Howard Levitt, spokesperson for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and flames and smoke were visible from his Fort Mason office, which is about two miles from Crissy Field.

“At this time, the fire is small and contained, and we aren’t sure yet what caused it,” said Dana Polk, media relations for the Presidio Trust.

Keeping in accordance with the statewide prevalence of fires, this one hits close to home, but is fortunately under control. Stay tuned.
