Have you ever wanted to create your own app? Know of a great eatery in need of one? If so, you might want to check out Map2App’s new “8-Hour Food App Challenge,” an online competition this Saturday in which San Francisco foodies will have the opportunity to create one professional smartphone app for a local food spot of their choosing.

The competition is open to 200 contestants and no previous coding experience is required. Ten awesome app creators will be selected by a panel of experts to receive press recognition and prizes, including one year’s free app hosting, a VIP pass to La Cocina’s National Street Food Festival and an invitation to an 826 Valencia award ceremony.

All revenue from the challenge will go to support local non-profits 826 Valencia and La Cocina. For tickets, click here.
