I live on 26th and Hampshire. My partner’s van was parked on Monday night right at this intersection beside the park, and a drunk driver rammed into it at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, hitting it hard enough to put it up on the curb. It was an early 2000s Passat, turquoise or gray/green, and the male driver rammed back into the stop sign behind when people tried to help. Hence the Passat is probably pretty badly damaged. We are really bummed, as this is our second parked vehicle to be totaled on this block!
Hmm, did the drunk driver miss the freeway entrance? Hope they set up some sobriety checkpoints. Not too surprised that this happens around the bar-friendly Mission area.
