Two young men robbed a 19-year-old man at knifepoint Monday evening at 18th and Oakwood.

Police reported that the victim was walking along the street around 7:30 p.m. when a suspect described as 18 years of age approached him and put a knife against his side.

The second suspect, described as 20 years of age, blocked the victim’s path. The other suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and stole his wallet, then punched him in the eye. The suspects then fled on foot.

The victim suffered bruises to his left eye but refused to go to the hospital.

A 42-year-old man was stabbed early Tuesday morning following an incident on a Muni bus.

Four suspects described as men in their 20s got on the bus at 20th and Mission streets at approximately 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The suspects harassed the victim regarding gang affiliation, according to police. When the victim got off the bus at 26th and Mission streets, the suspects followed and attacked him.

The victim suffered a stab wound to the chest and walked to St. Luke’s hospital. His injury was not life-threatening, and he was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

  1. I was at Birite tonight and asked the cashiers about it: one hadn’t heard about this, the other worked last night and said quickly, “That stabbing happened months ago. That’s probably what you read.” I’m not sure it does anyone any good to be in the dark about this stuff–bad things can happen anywhere, but at least be aware of when they’re happening.

  2. There has just been too much going on by Oakwood. I hate to say it, and I know bad things can happen anywhere, but I’m starting to realize why I never liked coming to the Mission. And now I live here.

    1. Yea, I live pretty close to oakwood and I know what you mean. This is the only place I’ve lived in SF, so I don’t know what other neighborhoods are like, but maybe I’ll try those out..

  3. It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from 18th and Oakwood to the poorer parts of town. Stealing from the more affluent couldn’t be easier.

  4. It’s so frustrating to see this kind of thing so frequently. Maybe I’m too new to city living, but I thought that part of 18th Street seemed pretty safe.
