Natural Resources, a pregnancy and child development store and classroom space for parents in the Mission, saved its business by raising more than $47,000 through an online campaign.

The campaign raised more than $47,452 from more than 800 donors in 19 days. The average donation was $59, and only two people donated more than $1,000. Contributors received memberships and discounts for their donations.

“It was a long shot,” said Cara Vidano, the store’s owner. “It’s been such a pleasant surprise to see all the community support and to know what this business means to people.”

With the money raised, the store will boost its inventory, offer more classes and stay in the neighborhood, Vidano said.

“Thank you for saving Natural Resources, and thank you for all your incredible support and well wishes,” she said.
