Two local bloggers and a freelance writer have mounted an “Anyone But Lee” for mayor campaign, less than 24 hours before the election.

Mission District resident and blogger Kevin Montgomery, Greg Dewar of the N-Judah Chronicles and former SF Weekly columnist Patrick Connors launched stopedlee.com, listing four reasons to vote for anyone but Ed Lee. None of them are connected to any candidate in the 2011 San Francisco mayoral race, the website notes.

If you recall, a similar, better-orchestrated campaign in Oakland worked surprisingly well for current mayor Jean Quan.

The website, complete with an Xtranormal video, calls Lee “the latest layer of Russian nesting doll politics in San Francisco.”

“He is a career bureaucrat, and a shitty one at that,” says one of the cute bears in the video.

Will it work? Not sure. But their more immediate goal is to make #edleenot4me a trending topic on Twitter.
