This in from Cary McQueen Morrow from Art With Impact:

So this is a short film competition my organization started this year. The topic was Israel / Palestine (our featured issue this year… next year we add Mental Health) so, obviously, we received submissions from all over the world. One of our judges even sent in her evaluations from Egypt. But in the end… the winner? Mission resident David Zlotnick with his film “No More Shooting and Crying.” (See vimeo above)

It’s a really compelling short doc on interviews with former Israeli combat soldiers leaving service.

Zlotnick will get $1,000 and screenings including one Nov. 10th  at the 9th Street Independent Film Center.

Here are some future topics.
