It’s 6:04 a.m. – way too early for anyone to be up – and 56° going to a cool 62. Still, there is hope in that 10-day forecast as it starts warming up over the weekend and hits 72 on Tuesday.

More bad news on poverty in California. “Six million residents last year had incomes below the federal poverty line of $22,113 for a family of four,” writes the LA Times. “Nearly 1 in 5 California residents lacked health insurance in 2010.”
And in yet another sign of the growing gap between very rich and the rest of us, it’s getting even more expensive to brave the bad news. Michael Bauer writes of the rise of the $13 cocktail.
