We’re only days away from La Cocina’s San Francisco Street Food Festival — it’s happening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — and I’m hungry, so I’ll be serving some fresh food news this morning.

Eater SF reports that the Palace Steak House redux “was lit, open and hosting diners during a soft-opening of sorts last night. Fans will remember the original Palace Steak House (not to be confused with the indie rock band of the same name) experienced a heart-breaking shutter in 2009.”

And it looks like Giordanos Bros., a sandwich place, is opening in the next few days on 16th Street. I miss the savory crepe and pear cider brunches of Ti Couz, but will give this new Steelers’-themed bar and restaurant a try.

Urban Daddy got a peek at the place and writes, “With seven flat-screen TVs, an extensive beer-on-tap program and a long list of sandwiches, this second, sizable outpost to the smaller, simpler North Beach original is set to be your Rust Belt oasis in the heart of the Mission.”
