The San Francisco Police Department reported today that on Monday afternoon at 4:12 p.m. officers arrested a 14-year-old male who had allegedly been aiming an assault rifle at passersby at San Jose Avenue and 30th Street.
Earlier, several citizens called police to report that they had seen a teenager pointing a weapon at people in that area.
Ingleside District plainclothes officers responded and witnessed the suspect discard the rifle.
The plainclothes officers, along with uniformed backup, chased and arrested the suspect, an Oakland resident.
The assault rifle was also recovered and booked into evidence, police reported.
