At the checkout registers at Duc Loi supermarket.

Just say how much you want, and they’ll stick their hand in a sandwich baggie and grab a lump out for you. Interesting place, Duc Loi.

I was so enraptured by poking it gently it that I forgot to buy any, but here’s my friend Ed’s review:

Delicious, well made, and even cheaper (gasp) than going to the taqueria. Such a thing should not even be possible, but there it is.

It cooks up light and fluffy and crispy on the outside, nailed it on my first try, so it’s pretty easy. But I think it has lard in it– it put me in a coma after I made some!

P.S. The fresh masa at La Palma is also highly recommended.
