A reader sent us a message at 8 p.m. that read:

A cop has a small white car pulled over when we heard about 6 shots and saw someone running. Now the car is sitting by itself with flashers on and the cops are further down Guerrero. Hope to hear about what the hell was going on in tomorrow’s paper.

Mission Police Station said they haven’t taken any suspects into custody, and our reporter who ran to the scene couldn’t find any eyewitnesses. Anyone else have more information? Send it to us at staff@missionlocal.org.

  1. As I saw it and live at that corner, I called the mission police station and actually spoke to the officer who was at the scene when the shotting occurred. He hadn’t pulled over a car, he was sitting with a woman and her 4 year old waiting for a tow truck because their car had broken down. Some completely unrelated people on the street shot at some other people driving by in a car. The officer said he heard the bullets whiz past his head. He called it in and chased after the shooters who ran into the projects but, according to the officer, the residents blocked the officer from following, obstructing the chase, and he didn’t catch the shooter. There were no apparent victims and they only have one anonymous witness… no one else would say anything. I’m not sure I got all the details right but this guy is answering the general phone number at the mission police station right now.
