Off the Grid: San Francisco, a company devoted to organizing cultural food markets, plans to export street carts from the Mission District and elsewhere to Fort Mason for Friday-night gatherings.
The for-profit will partner with Fort Mason Center, La Cocina and the SF Cart Project to establish a new Friday-night market for Asian and Latin entrepreneurs called Off the Grid: Fort Mason.
The kickoff of will be June 25, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participating food vendors include Peko Peko Catering, El Huarache Loco, Kung Fu Tacos, Chaac Mool, Hapa SF, Seoul On Wheels, Soul Cocina, Onigilly, Azalina’s Malaysian and Global Soul. Others may join the lineup later.
The goal of the Fort Mason street market, according to Off the Grid’s press release, is to “highlight the vibrancy and culture of Asian and Latin Street Food Markets” as well as “provide legal opportunities for food entrepreneurs to showcase their products.”
