Maybe you prefer your fixie with the electric blue deep-V rims. But some days you just have to cruise down Mission, and since Mission’s such a death trap on a bike, you have to pull out the V-8 lowrider Impala. Yeah, the one with the La Virgin across the trunk. Panaderias and La Taqueria, that’s what the Bratt Brothers are hitting up in evening with the two in The New York Times.
Take another walk, down to 24th Street and Galeria de la Raza. Check out this video, which chronicles the last 10 years (and more!) of their history into a concise three minutes and 42 seconds.
Then catch these kids skateboarding, and people taking pictures of them, at 16th and Mission, courtesy of Brad Evans of Citysnaps. An aside and a slight plug, Blow Up! a photography group that Brad (and I) are members of, will be holding its first group exhibit at Cigar Bar & Grill on Tuesday from 7-10 p.m. (Via John Agoncillo’s Alapan, another photoblog that you should be watching.)
And if you’re hungry, Mission Street Food has you covered, with tonight’s menu featuring guest chef Chad Newton, wild ocean trout sashimi, fresh clam chowder and slow roasted lamb.
Thus sated, before you go to bed, don’t forget to make plans for Easter Sunday tomorrow, Eater SF’s recommended brunch list includes Foreign Cinema and Bar Bambino.
Just another day in the Mission.
