Completely missed this one from SF.Streetsblog — biking in the city is up by 8.5 percent since last year and 53 percent since 2006.
The 2009 Bicycle Count Report from the MTA shows that the morning count at 14th and Folsom went up 20 percent to 248 bikes and down by 12 percent at 17th and Valencia to 606 bikes in the evening count. The latter had the third highest bike count after 11th and Market (808 bikes) and Page and Scott (613 bikes).
Looking around, I found piano player, composer and neighbor Marc Capelle’s video on the Mission. Here are some links to some of his music. He mentions Jonathan Richman, who was at the Make Out Room in September. You can hear him here playing You’re Crazy for Taking the Bus.
Okay, back to business.
Jivano, the Last Cutler has moved out of his 18th Street place. During the summer he and the building’s owner Sam Mogannam, also the owner of Bi-Rite, agreed on a departure date. A notice on the window thanks customers and asks them to take their “dull cutlery” to ABC Locksmith at 3410 18th Street near Mission St. Stay tuned for further notices at jivano.com.
