Definitely something going on over at Cine Latino, but the construction crew isn’t saying anything and closed the doors once ML started snapping photos. lc

Safari users, here’s your link to Shalwah’s update on vacancies on Valencia Street. Urban Burger (delicious, but it better be for the price) Xanath and Casa Bonampak are new additions, while the former Slanted Door is still askew.

Armand is a photojournalism and multimedia student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, and is originally from Baton Rouge, La. His work history includes being a paper pusher in Los Angeles and a youth program coordinator in Ramallah, and is currently a student editor at Mission Local, which means he gets to read a lot of news and tell people what to do.

He also waits for the day when bacon and buffalo sauce combine on one plate.

  1. 686 Valencia has been foreclosed upon by the note holder. They have taken down the plywood to allow you to look in to the cavernous space and you can see the potential there. Would be a great restaurant, Bar, gym, it’s huge with 20 foot ceilings. The question for the new owner will be what type of tenant he can get in this economy, along Valencia…

  2. thanks for the updates on what’s going on in the neighborhood. i’m always curious what’s going on with the places under renovation or that are clearly setting up to open as something new soon. the google map with the status of all the storefronts on the other article is awesome.
