San Francisco Police Department report that a stabbing early Saturday morning on Valencia and 16th streets sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.

The suspect, a man in his 20s, approached a 33-year-old man and stabbed him with an unknown object at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses report that before stabbing the victim, the suspect shouted the word “Norte.”

The attack left the 33-year-old man with wounds to the chest and stomach. As of Tuesday morning, police report that the man’s condition is life-threatening and he’s being treated at San Francisco General Hospital.
