It is 10:04 a.m. and it’s a beautiful day in the Mission. It is now 72˚ and it’s a ridiculously sunny and warm day for Christmas. Details for the next ten days here.

Today’s blocks: Portrero Avenue to Bryant St., 18th to 19th Streets.

This morning I went to ground at the top right corner of the Mission, waiting for the dawn. Since everything I know of the United States comes from telly, I was expecting a lot of bungler daddies impersonating Santa trying to surprise their kid from the chimneys – that didn’t happen. This has been the most un-Christmassy Christmas morning I’ve experienced. Not complaining, though – the wind tonight swept the sky and trimmed the palm trees [if you walk on Mission Street this morning, there’s a lot of palm trees foliage going on], the dawn has been memorable, the dusk will be even better – it’s just another great day in the Mission [and don’t forget the Mission Walk, tonight].

With the light good early on, so much the better to sign on to document your block. Don’t wait! Let us know what day and block you would like at info@missionlocal.com.

You can see a map of all of the blocks here.  The blocks in grey are being saved for others who have signed up. Let us save a block for you as well.
