The day before Christmas was not all quiet in the Mission District, according to San Francisco Police reports. Two robberies occurred Wednesday, in both cases, the victims lost holiday gift cards.

Early Wednesday morning, a 32-year-old man was exiting a store near the corner of 30th and Mission when three men in their 20s came up to him. One of the younger men demanded the man hand over his property. When he didn’t immediately respond, the three younger men attacked him punching and kicking him to the ground. The suspects then ran off with his cellphone, cash, and a gift card. The man’s injuries were minor and he refused medical treatment.

Christmas Eve, shortly before 11 p.m., an unknown suspect robbed a 29-year-old woman walking near the corner of 15th and Valencia. The man came up behind her, grabbed her purse and ran. It contained cash, her drivers license, and gift cards.
