Update: Police reported that this incident occurred on the 14 Muni line after the suspect and male victim got into a verbal altercation on the bus. As the suspect was leaving the bus, he shot the male victim, and the bullet went through the victim’s thigh and into a woman’s abdomen. Early police reports stated that the victims were 25 years old, but updated reports give the age of the male victim as 21 and the female as 26.
Two people were shot and injured aboard a Muni bus at Mission and Valencia streets at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, police report.
The victims were a man and woman, 21 and 26 respectively. The man was shot in the leg and the woman in the torso. Both victims were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The male suspect fled the scene on foot toward Mission Street and Precita Avenue. No other information was available. Individuals with information about the incident are encouraged to contact the police.

What kind of weapon was used? I bet that it was a Tec-9 handgun.
No other info available? Was his race redacted in black ink on the police bulletin/APB? Or did Mission Local decide to be Politically correct?
I hope the two victims will fully recover and they catch this 18 to 20 year old twerp.
The other major S.F. Bay news outlets aren’t touching this report / item , for some reason..
Strangely silent..( sfgate , S.F.Ex , etc.)
Another reason not to take the 14 or 49 buses.
Mission & Valencia run parallel to one another for a large number of blocks (around 12). Where did this happen?
Mission and Valencia intersect at the southern end of Valencia street. Mission veers off to the southwest past Cesar Chavez, while Valencia continues south. That’s how they end up intersecting, and that’s apparently where this shooting happened.
It’s kind of a hard intersection to miss, if you’ve ever been south of Cesar Chavez on Mission or Valencia street.
this report seems pretty accurate, the shooting happened where Valencia & Mission intersect.
You know, where Mission & Valencia no longer run parallel, at Fair Avenue, a couple blocks south of Army St.
SFthen,
Thank You Thank You for referring to the correct street name: Army st! One day the street intended to honor our veterans will be restored.
Well, it says at Mission and Valencia, which would suggest that it happened near where Mission and Valencia street intersect, which they do in La Lengua.
“la lengua” is not an actual neighborhood. It’s some weird made-up name that got added to google maps for some reason a few years ago (though it’s not on there any more, apparently!). Ask anyone who’s lived in SF for more than a few years what neighborhood that is, and they’ll most likely say it’s part of the Mission, or part of Bernal Heights.
I think it is quite telling that you write:
“they’ll most likely say it’s part of the Mission, or part of Bernal Heights.”
So… it is some neighborhood, but people just don’t know which one. Ha! La Lengua it is!

24th and Mission should be EL FARLITO!
