This from Krista Maloney at the SPCA:
I have great news! James, the puppy that was stolen from the SF SPCA Adoptions Center yesterday, was returned to us about an hour ago! He looks happy and healthy, and we’re thrilled to have him back. He was supposed to go to his new adoptive home last night, before he was stolen, and he’ll be reunited with his new family at the SF SPCA Adoptions Center today at 5:30 p.m. The family is fine talking with the media and if you’d like to cover the story please let me know; we’ll have spokespeople available for interviews and it will be possible to film the adoption center as well (including the room where James was stolen from).
James was returned to us by a woman who said she bought him for $200 outside the Safeway on Mission. She brought the puppy to her mom’s house, and the mom realized that the puppy had been stolen because she had seen James’ photo on the news. The women, who want to remain anonymous, returned James to SF SPCA around 2 p.m.

What a happy ending. I love it.
Happy indeed.
