Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Political fallout from the landslide recall of D4 Supervisor Joel Engardio continues. Kelly Waldron looks at the data for some key takeaways.

Now leaders of the recall are warning that Mayor Daniel Lurie needs to be careful about his upzoning plan, which many of them vehemently oppose, and who he appoints to fill Engardio’s seat.

The “predatory” immigration consultant Leonard Lacayo has been fined over $600,000 by the S.F. Superior Court. Lacayo had ignored an injunction and three city lawsuits, and allegedly kept charging immigrants for fraudulent legal advice.

See Joe Rivano Barros’ 2016 back story on the city attorney’s 2016 suit against the combative Lacayo, whose advice was allegedly so “shoddy” that it put clients at risk of deportation.

Want to avoid a parking ticket ? Well, there’s an app for that: Find My Parking Cops. Take a lookโ€”before the city shuts down its data.

More soon,
