Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Want to be D4 supervisor? Mission Local obtained the 5-page questionnaire the Mayor’s office is sending out to applicants. In an only-in-San Francisco touch, applicants were asked whether they’d ever hired a permit expediter on their properties.ย

The Land Use committee of the S.F. Board of Supervisors approved a few state-supported amendments to the city’s controversial upzoning plan, and tabled more sweeping attempts to exempt certain areas from development. Io Yeh Gilman explains what’s happeningโ€”and what’s next.

The legacy business Bissap Baobab is closing its Mission Street venue after 28 years. The owner, Marco Senghor, is actively looking for a new location, and promises a farewell party for the neighborhood December 20.

For the back story, read about Senghor’s previous move from ‘Little Baobab’ to ‘Big Baobab.

More soon,

Sara
