Scott Neu, a SF sheriff’s deputy fired in 2015 after allegedly forcing county jail inmates to fight each other and do pushups for food, cost the city $280,000 in settlements. Now he’s being rehired to work in the jail. Eleni Balakrishnan explains how law enforcement unions can get fired members reinstated.
Barely one day into a statewide 5-day strike by CSU faculty, the union and management announced a tentative settlement. The SF State chapter wasn’t having it.
SF SAFE, a nonprofit contractor for the SFPD, was accused of misspending city funds following an audit. Yesterday the Latino Task Force also charged SF SAFE with failure to pay an owed $625,000 for Spanish-speaking community ambassadors in the Mission.
