Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

San Francisco school principals and maintenance workers have voted to walk out in sympathy if teachers go on strike Monday, and schools will close.

Joe Eskenazi reports on the S.F. school district’s attempts to restrict the enrollment of immigrant kids in newcomer programs. Read the internal memos and district sources he found to contradict SFUSD’s claim that newcomers have been just too fearful to sign up.

Yes, it’s Super Bowl weekend, and you can check out our guide to free events around the city. And read about the fabulous Bad Bunny look-alike contest at Tacolicious last night!

More soon,

Sara
