Good afternoon!
The city has a budget deficit, but Mayor Daniel Lurie wants to cut taxes on real estate transfers over $10 million. Lurie says giving a break to developers will aid housing productionโthough most of the cuts would benefit office landlords, who pay the city about $78 million a year in transfer taxes.
Tony Phillips, the man who brawled with Mayor Lurie’s security team, was arrested again yesterday for being at the corner of Larkin and Cedar. A judge had released Phillips from jail, but ordered him to stay away from the corner.
