Good afternoon!

Mayor Daniel Lurie and D5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood are pausing their plan to halve the tax on the city’s transfer tax for multi-million dollar properties. Eleni Balakrishnan reports that their BUILD plan raised concerns it would lose revenue for the strapped city, while giving tax breaks to the wealthy.

The change in direction comes days after Mahmood told Mission Local he was open to paring back the controversial tax break, and finding ways to “restructure” the plan. See our back story.
