Good afternoon!
More scooter madness in the Mission, with a rider speeding the wrong way down a one-way street and hitting a nurse cycling home. And until Sup. Ronen’s office intervened to get a report filed, police told the nurse that scooters aren’t vehicles, so “nothing illegal happened.”
Customers were the ones who intervened at Mission Cannabis, where two shoppers wrestled an agitated intruder and took away his gun. The same man had just left another nearby dispensary, threatening, “I could rob this place, I have a gun.”
San Francisco’s rezoning plans are underway, with proposals to increase height or densityโparticularly on the Westside, as well as in Russian Hill, Nob Hill, and Noe Valley.ย Planners are asking for feedback: expect intense discussion and negotiations.
We’re launching A Cultural Mission, a new weekly column covering dance, music, visual arts, film, and the artists who live here. Check out our tips for some of this weekend’s most interesting performances and events.
More soon,
