Good afternoon!

And very good news for the long-term tenants in a Mission apartment building that was just purchased by the San Francisco Community Land Trust with help from the city’s Small Sites program. The land trust preserves affordable housing, keeping tenants in homes they can afford.

Well, it sure would be something if a connection between socialists and YIMBYs could get new social housing built in San Francisco. Read about the two-person SHIMBY campaign and see if you think it’s likely.

The San Francisco Poster Syndicate was busy this year creating and distributing at least 10,000 free political posters at protests, and inviting bystanders to lend a hand with the screenprinting. Meet two of its artists who talk about the activist collective.

There will be a ceremony from 10AM-4PM tomorrow with prayer and dance to celebrate Aztec dancer Ricardo Peรฑa, “El Tigre,” outdoors at the corner of South Van Ness and 24th Street. Read details about the event here, and the back story on Peรฑa’s life in community.
