Good afternoon! Here’s the latest:

The Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance sponsored by D4’s Joel Engardio that would let homeowners who build new in-law units sell them separately as condos. Read about the details, and the political thinking.

Eleni Balakrishnan looks at illegal gambling in Tenderloin corner stores. Eight stores have been raided in the last year, three lawsuits filed, and 13 people arrestedโ€”but the slot machines keep clicking along.

Mayor Daniel Lurie was grilled by 300 Bayview residents at a heated town hall. Many pointed to his crackdown on RVs and cuts to social services, saying City Hall has failed to serve the district.

The Department of Homeland Security is trying a new tactic. ICE arrested one asylum-seeker after his hearing in S.F. immigration court, and transferred him out of the city to face a harsher judge. Margaret Kadifa explains what could happen.

Meanwhile, neighbors met at Galeria de la Raza to write letters of support to Hilary Rivers, the S.F. drag queen who was detained by ICE last week.
