Good afternoon!

The latest S.F. election results were released yesterday by the Department of Elections, and Joe Eskenazi gives an update and analysis. He writes that D1’s Connie Chan gained substantially over rival Marjan Philhourโ€”a surprise to much of the city’s political establishmentโ€” and Board of Ed President Matt Alexander is on the cusp of a breakthrough. Take a look at what’s happening with the propositions, too.

Dean Preston, the D5 supervisor, has conceded his likely defeat. Tech entrepreneur and YIMBY candidate Bilal Mahmoodย is poised to replace him, after the city’s most expensive district race.

Joe Rivano Barros talks with city politicians about the challenges a neophyte mayor and four neophyte supervisors will face as San Francisco heads into the “buzzsaw” of a Trump administration. Oh, and there’s that $800 million budget deficit to deal with, too.

In other Sunday news: Hundreds gathered at Dolores Park to crown a Dev Patel look-alike. We’ve got the pictures to prove the event had “too much hotness.”

Mission Local will have more updates after 4PM today, when the Department of Elections releases its next round.

More soon,
