Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

We’ve been digging into the BigMoneySF network, and today Joe Rivano Barros has a great new piece on Neighbors for a Better San Francisco Advocacy, and how it became the 800-pound gorilla of SF politics.

Mayor London Breed is in trouble: 80% of Asian votersโ€”who make up nearly a third of the elecorateโ€”rate her unfavorably in polls. In today’s installment of See How They Run, we follow Breed to Chinatown.

In other news, Capp Street, barricaded from 18th to 22nd to deter sex work, has been transformed into an extended parking lot, replete with planters and a pop-up carwash. See what neighbors, the Fire Department, cops, and drivers have to say about it.

More soon,

Sara

A note to readers: Expect e a lot of misinformation, disinformation, and just plain media wackiness as we head into the November elections. Mission Local will continue to put out smart, trustworthy, in-depth election reporting and analysis. With our Election Dashboard, you can stay on top of all the racesโ€”and the money behind them. We’ll also cover breaking news, interview candidates in public forums, and give readers the chance to talk about the elections with our reporters.

Mission Local is independent and runs on support from locals. In this very important election season, we need your help to keep doing this important work. Please donate today.

Thank you!
