As Mayor Lurie calls for budget cuts, the Adult Probation Department submitted a budget proposal for $12.7 million to run a new program offering exactly the same services the nonprofit Pretrial Diversion Project is already providing. Read Abigail Vรขn Neely‘s report.

The board of the SFMTA approved slashing 365 units from a proposed affordable housing project at the Potrero Yard Muni bus facility. Alice Finno talks to disappointed community groups who say more housing is urgently needed in the neighborhood.
