Ruth’s Table: Conversation with Ed Frauenheim

What does it mean to be a man today? And how can compassion, connection, and courage reshape masculinity for the better?
Join us for a powerful conversation with Ed Frauenheim, co-author of Reinventing Masculinity: The Liberating Power of Compassion and Connection.
Ed describes the old model of “Confined Masculinity” as an emotional straitjacket—one that limits men’s possibilities and often leads to isolation, harm, and disconnection. As an alternative, he and co-author Dr. Ed Adams introduce “Liberating Masculinity”: a fuller, more expansive way of being rooted in caring, collaboration, emotional expressiveness, and responsibility to community and the planet.
In this talk, Ed will share hopeful stories of transformation, personal insights, and practical exercises based on the Six C’sof Liberating Masculinity: curiosity, courage, compassion, connection, commitment, and contemplation. You’ll learn how these qualities can support healthier, more harmonious relationships at home, at work, and in the world.
