Manny’s: Unlearning Jewish Anxiety: How to Live with More Joy and Less Suffering

Join author Caryn Aviv as she discusses her new book.
Unlearning explores the impact of anti-Jewish contempt on our nervous systems and our habits. The book harnesses neuroscience and Jewish wisdom to better understand and unlearn our inherited, cultural anxiety habits around safety, worth, and belonging with compassion and awareness. The broader goal? Helping Jews, loved ones, and our allies engage in tikkun atzmi (healing our souls and our nervous systems) to expand our capacity for tikkun olam (healing our broken world).
Caryn Aviv is Rabbinic Director at Judaism Your Way in Denver, CO. She’s a recovering academic in sociology and Jewish studies, and (mostly) formerly anxious Jew. Rabbi Caryn teaches and leads ritual that offer healing and compassion for Jews, their loved ones and allies. Unlearning Jewish Anxiety is her fourth book.
